Final day: A Week of Christmas Self-Care

 Day 7: A Week of Christmas Self-Care
~ Sparkle ~

We are only a few days away from Christmas, and whether you are spending the day by yourself or with others, I want you to remember to S P A R K L E, from the inside-out and the outside-in.

Let the festive spirit wash over you and for getall perfectionism, worries and future to-dos.  You have done all you can to get things organised up until now, and for Christmas Day and beyond all there is left to do is enjoy yourself.  Even if you are hosting.

If you are lucky enough to have people spending the day with you or are visiting others, not everything needs to be perfect.  Your loved ones will simply enjoy spending time with you.

Sparkle in your way of being, how you dress, and even how you do your makeup.  Some will be more sparkly :) while those of us who are more subdued in our personal style will sparkle in a subtle way perhaps with a little gold-toned highlighter on our cheekbones.

Sparkle in your personal interactions by asking questions of others, and promising to yourself that you will only speak of positive anecdotes.  Be that person who lifts others and yourself up by your manner.  You can set the tone for your gathering by being calm, joyous and relaxed.  Be that person who puts others at ease.

Have something sparkling to drink too, from a flute of course!  A glass of sparkling wine, spritzer or mineral water with a dash of fruit juice.  There is nothing more festive than something fizzy in a Champagne glass.

I invite you to revisit one of my favourite holiday posts here, on having an haute couture Christmas.  It’s magical :)

Merry Christmas chic friends, it’s been a pleasure to spend this week with you.  Thank you for your lovely comments too, they are received and appreciated.

I look forward to seeing you in the new year that is 2021.

All my best to you! Fiona

  1. Hi Fiona

Thank you for these uplifting posts in this most difficult of years. I appreciate the goodwill and generous spirit you share in all that you write. Your books are in my little library and I consider them real gems. Happy Christmas to you and yours from Vancouver, Canada.

  4. Happy New Year Fiona! I've got a couple of questions for you. First, do you have a Burn's Supper? What are your plans for Valentine's Day? My philosophy is "Any excuse for a party"!

    1. Hi GG! No, I don't know what a Burns Supper is, but it sounds Scottish? No plans for Valentines Day, I like to treat every day like Valentines Day :)

  5. Fiona, where are yooooouuuuu??? I miss you as I'm sure others do, too! I check every day or two, but alas, no Ms. Ferris. (Today, I checked the Comments and saw the last one of 1/26/21, so I know you're alive! As I said in a previous post, I have all your books and am reading and enjoying the last one, The Peaceful Life...you are a very talented writer and I enjoy your books tremendously. Now, I know from reading said books that you have learned the valuable lessons of living your own life (as I have) and not paying much attention to what other people say (as I have), but, you're so good that you've created a following and some of us are getting impatient!!! (P.S. The above has been said in a loving and peaceful spirit. I have learned from you.) Cynthia-Claire

    1. Hi Cynthia-Claire! Well, I'm definitely alive, lol. Just took some time off over January and now finishing up my latest book. I'm so glad you are enjoying The Peaceful Life and I'm sorry for your impatience :) And no, the cover is not meant to be anyone in particular, I just thought the artwork was so pretty, and... peaceful. Many thanks for checking in!

  6. I forgot to ask...is the woman on the cover of The Peaceful Life supposed to be Angolina Jolie? Except for the blonde hair, it looks like her. (at lease to me) C-C
