It just feels better. Yes, there are days here and there
where I don’t put any makeup on, but those are rare.
π I enjoy applying it -
it’s like doing a colouring book for 10 minutes a day π
- very meditative!
π I get to use the items
I already own. Makeup doesn’t last forever so why not use it up rather than
throw it out one day.
π It enhances my looks,
and it’s fun to perfect how I do it. At the moment I am using only a tiny bit
of foundation on a brush I used to use more. But then I saw how French girls let
their skin show through a bit.
π I feel happy with
myself if there is an unexpected visitor because I feel prepared for the day.
But really I do it for me. I have a little capsule
collection set up on my writing desk, because it gets good morning light. I put
on an inspirational video or audio and listen away while I do my makeup. I
really look forward to this part of my day!
Do you find applying makeup as enjoyable as I do? ☺️
I put on a little bit of makeup most days, just because it makes me feel good. I've always had a light hand with make-up but I think that's just me being me. And you do look lovely, Fiona
ReplyDeleteLike your light makeup look, Fiona. I have been lax about this lately so thanks for the reminder! My hubby cut my hair yesterday for the second time and I'm actually never going back to a salon as I like the way he did it better; we watched You Tube tutorials no less and I bought a razor comb on Amazon which worked great. BTW, someone told me about this You Tube channel yesterday and I thought it was something you would just love -- luxe homes to "copycat DIY" decorate as you like to do in your own home and are good at doing too. I love Nina Campbell's London cottage! Enjoy!
ReplyDeletechannel is called Quintessence on You Tube if this link does not work and it's luxe home tours.

I've been doing this too, Fiona. I like how it makes me feel, both to take the time and to feel "pretty" all day. We don't have visitors, but you never know when someone may FaceTime. Also, it sets me up for the nighttime routine of skincare. I never thought of the "using things up" part - you're right that we've purchased it and makeup doesn't last forever, If we're using it, we're giving it value. xo karen
