30 Chic Days at Home - Day 15 - What Will You Change After This?

In yesterday's post I mentioned how I was resting more and not rushing through things, and also that I had never seen more people out walking with their families.  Then today I heard a lady on YouTube say that she was cooking more for her and her sixteen year old son and that they actually sat down and had dinner together at night, because they had the time and both wanted to.  I even read on Twitter that someone was taking their time to shower and groom in the morning and they loved it.  Me too!

I can see that a lot of us will take this time of forced confinement and realise that a lot of good has come from it.  Yes, definitely, a lot of stress, health worries and financial strain, but also a silver lining.  I know for myself there are things I will take forward with me.

The main one right now is a renewal of my vows (hehe, I just felt that was appropriate) for my love of writing - both in my books and on my blog.  I don't know what it was but I felt I'd lost my spark a bit.  Every so often I wonder if I'm still 'writing in the right direction' but really, the only way you can find that out is to write about what you want to and see where it takes you.  And when I'm writing at the moment, guess what, it's what I've already been writing about.  Yay!

I also wonder if people who have been lucky enough to have had time off work will wonder if what they're doing is what they really want to be doing.  Yes, this year is certainly one of change, I think we can all agree on that!  Both forced change, and afterwards, possibly choosing our change.

What will you be taking forward?  Any changes you think you might make afterwards?

Gosh, 'afterwards', it seems a long way off, doesn't it?  But remember we're all in this together (as if you haven't heard that phrase a million times already!) and as a globe full of people, we'll find our way through it.

  1. I'll be taking a few things forward, for sure. My diet has completely changed in a way I hadn't expected, and it suits me. And other things

  2. I'm taking time to enjoy the small things, like eating out on my patio for breakfast while watching the birds. I put a birdfeeder up and it's fun watching four birds try to fit on the little ledge while others are flying around it.
